Why the Church?

When Jesus came to the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say the Son of Man is?”

They replied, “Some say John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, Jeremiah or one of the prophets.”

“But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you say I am?”

Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

With that same spirit of faith we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you in his presence.  All this is for your benefit, so that the grace that is reaching more and more people may cause thanksgiving to overflow to the glory of God.

What makes us unique? Our (group) grace gift
- worship/music (One of the things which has taken us through the tough times)
- acceptance (we represent a diverse people across many boundaries)
- healing of the heart
- perseverance
- generosity
- love
- God centred
- fellowship
- community (We seek to serve the whole body - physical, emotional, spiritual)
- compassion (We have a heart for community)
- presence seeking (we are aware of Gods' presence - aware of our mystical reality)
- intercession (through music and prayer)
- Leaders from outside of church
- Leaders in church - they stayed soft when things got rough
